Property Pricewatch

Method
The Society has been studying typical house prices in Cambridge City since 1987.
Each two-month study uses, on average, 110 properties taken from listings of properties for sale advertised by local estate agents.
Housing stock in Cambridge is quite diverse. Our survey concentrates on properties in four categories:

1. Small terrace (one or two bedrooms)
2. Large terrace (large two bedroom or three bedrooms)
3. Semi-detached
4. Detached

The survey includes both modern and older properties. It excludes flats and bungalows, detached properties with more than four bedrooms and very untypical properties, for example those of unusual construction or architecture.

The survey compares prices in six regions of the City. Each region is roughly based on the City Wards shown in brackets.

1. Central (Petersfield and Market)
2. North West (Castle, Arbury and West Chesterton)
3. North East (East Chesterton and King's Hedges)
4. East City (Romsey, Coleridge and Abbey)
5. South and West (Trumpington and Newnham and Queen Ediths)
6. Cherry Hinton (Cherry Hinton)
