Society staff toast one year in Cambourne 22.05.2007
Cambridge Building Society staff have been celebrating the success of their Cambourne branch one year after it opened in High Street, Great Cambourne.

Staff toasted their branch's birthday with a reception for customers and guests on Tuesday, 22 May. They also treated Elsworth Pre School with a donation of toys to mark the event.

The branch's Area Manager, Laurie Harper said:

"Our Cambourne branch has enjoyed an extremely successful first year, exceeding our business expectations. As well as providing an excellent local service for the many customers who live in the area, the staff have opened over 700 new savings accounts and attracted many new borrowers to the Society. Customer feedback has been very positive and our decision to extend the branch's opening hours on weekday evenings has been popular.

"The Cambourne team have made quite an impact in the local community too. They have taken part in and supported a range of school fetes and the Cambourne Festival, and have raised funds for a variety of local charities and causes.

"We are also delighted to announce the recruitment of a new branch supervisor to lead the Cambourne team through its second year. Julie Hildyard has been working in our Sawston branch for the past year, and will be taking over the management of our Cambourne and Comberton branches in early June."
