The Cambridge Building Society has appointed Stephen Mitcham as Deputy Chief Executive.
Mr Mitcham has worked for Cambridge Building Society for 16 years and has been a member of the Building Society's executive team since 1997; his most recent role as Head of Business Development. In September 2006, Stephen Mitcham joined the Society's Board of Directors. He will remain as Deputy Chief Executive until April 2007, when he will take over the reigns from the current Chief Executive, Bob Jackson, who is due to retire after a 46-year career in financial services.
Looking to the future, Stephen Mitcham said:
"Cambridge Building Society has played a major role in promoting a savings habit and providing the finance for homeownership locally for generations. The Society has developed its reputation for excellent customer service and friendly staff under the current leadership of Bob Jackson. It is a privilege to be in the position to steer the organisation forward."
