Staff at Cambridge Building Society's flagship office on St Andrews Street are celebrating this week as their branch turns 40. The branch, which relocated from the old Post Office Terrace, has offered a range of mortgage and savings to people of Cambridge since 1967.
To mark its milestone year, the branch is set to host a range of celebratory events over the next two weeks.
In true Cambridge style, the Society is taking this opportunity to raise funds for local charities. This week it is extending its support of Press Relief's Teenage Cancer Trust appeal with a range of in-branch fundraising activities.
Area Manager for the branch, Janet Impey, comments:
"We are very proud of our St Andrews Street branch. It has been supporting the local community for 40 years and we are pleased to take this opportunity to help two more worthwhile causes. The Society has supported Teenage Cancer Trust all year, as sponsor of the Press Relief Charity Ball and Moonlight Walk, and we are pleased to continue fundraising for this very special cause."
St Andrews Street branch staff are joined by Helen Bearfield-Smith from Teenage Cancer Trust and Harriet Eldridge, in remission after six months of treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
