The consumer magazine What Mortgage has completed its annual hunt to find the best value mortgage providers. The Magazine's 2008 'Lenders of the Year Awards' names Cambridge Building Society the cheapest Regional Building Society for the second year running. 

The awards are based on the actual interest rates charged to existing borrowers over the past five years, ignoring any short term discounts or special offers at the start of the loan.

Commenting on the awards win, Stephen Mitcham, the Society's Chief Executive said:

“The Society has an ongoing commitment to offering an attractive range of mortgage and savings products to our members and we see this award as a real reflection of this approach and our policy of providing long term value and delivering a quality service.”
