Staff at the Society's Head Office present £7,500 to five local charities.
Following the success of this year's Tour de Branch charity cycle ride, Cambridge Building Society presented £7,500 to five local charities.
Bob Jackson, the Society's Chief Executive presented the cheques at a presentation held at the Society's Head Office in Newmarket Road, on Friday 27th October.
This year's chosen charities included: AICH, a confidential, face to face counselling service for 14 to 25 year olds living in and around the Huntingdon area; Cambridge Cyrenians, a group that provides accommodation and support services for homeless men and women in the City; and the local Macmillan Cancer Support group, which raises money for specialist doctors and nurses to provide care in local hospitals, hospices and Macmillan Day Centres.
Money raised will also contribute to the £5,000 needed by MAGPAS to create a first responder pre-hospital service in Cherry Hinton, and will help fund a new minibus for Newmarket's fast growing Community Buzz Dial A Ride service. An additional donation was also made to cancer charity 'The Eve Appeal'.
