Magical Moonlight Walk

10.07.2007

The Magical Moonlight Walk will take place on Friday 20th July 2007 in the private grounds of Anstey Hall in Trumpington. 1,000 walkers will set off on a 6 mile hike, dubbed the 'Magical Moonlight Walk', to raise funds for two local youth charities; Teenage Cancer Trust and Q103 Kidz.

Walkers will go on a great route into the city, and will start and finish in Cambridge's best-kept secret venue; the private grounds of Anstey Hall, the Lutynes house, recently restored by John de Bruyne.

The Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity that builds special wards for teenagers with cancer. At the moment there are not any of these specialist wards in the East of England. The money raised will be used on the proposed unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Q103 Kidz helps support local groups working with children and young adults up to the age of 21 who experience the effects of poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness, violence or crime, illness and disability.

The walk aims to raise £50,000; which will be split equally between the two charities.

The Society will be supporting the walk through sponsorship and publicising it in it's local branch network. Approximately 20 members of staff will also be taking part in the walk to help raise much needed funds.
