Macmillan join Society's 40th Birthday celebrations

22.11.2007

Cambridge Building Society's St Andrews Street branch is continuing its 40th Birthday celebrations this week by fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Following the success of last week's appeal for Teenage Cancer Trust, the building society has invited fundraisers from Macmillan to host a range of activities in their banking hall at 32 St Andrews Street, Cambridge from Monday 26th to Friday 30th November, 10am - 4pm.

SAS 40th MAcmillan
Society staff and Macmillan volunteers work together.

They will be serving coffee and cakes as well as answering questions about Macmillan Cancer Support. They will have a luxury Marks & Spenser Christmas hamper containing Bucks Fizz, Christmas cake, Truffles, and Belgian Chocolate biscuits to win and various other prizes including sweat shirts.

On Thursday 29th November Macmillan volunteer Penny Cleobury will be answering questions on Macmillan fundraising, volunteering, marketing, committees and a whole lot more.

On Friday 30th November, Chris Millward, Macmillan's legacy expert will be in Cambridge to answer any questions on bequests, wills and legacies.

In addition, the charity's Fundraising Team will be on hand everyday to help you with any questions about how you can raise funds, volunteer or support Macmillan.

Denise Jackson, of Cambridge Building Society said:

"We have been keen supporters of Macmillan for a number of years, through a range of fundraing activities accross our branch network, and we also share our St Andrew's Street building with Macmillans Cambridge office. Our 40th Birthday was the ideal opportunity to give the charity's Fundraising Team a platform in which to raise awareness and provide information about this very worthwhile cause."
