Members of staff from Cambridge Building Society's St Andrews Street and Bridge Street branches braved torrential rain in order to give some much needed TLC to a charity's garden.
Members of staff from the Society's St Andrews Street branch, heard through a customer that Whitworth House, a women's hostel in Chesterton, desperately needed some help with their garden. The garden needed some expert attention to be made ready for the upcoming Summer months.
The team spent the day clearing waste and weeds, digging and mulching borders, pruning trees, and trimming hedges. They then decorated the garden with a beautiful selection of plants, which were also funded by the Society's city branches.
Yvonne Sumter, manager of Whitworth House said:
"We are delighted with our brand new garden, which will now be so much easier to manage over the Summer months. We would like to thank the team for all their help, particularly on such a wet and muddy day."
