The organisers of the Society's Pink Day prepare to host a fundraising coffee morning.
Staff at the Cambridge Building Society have been busy raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer by holding a 'pink' day on Friday 27th October. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Breakthrough charity are asking everyone to help them work towards their vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
Staff at the Society's Head Office in Newmarket Road paid £1 to dress down for the day and wear an item of pink clothing. There was also a Marshmallow Eating Competition, a 'guess the number of pink sweets in a jar' competition and pink cakes were sold at a coffee morning to boost fundraising.
The Society's Chesterton Road branch also held a pink raffle and sold Breast Cancer Awareness badges throughout October, helping bring the total raised to over £400.
In addition staff from the Society's Milton and Histon branches took part in the Milton Country Park walk 'Stride' in aid of Cancer Research, on the 2nd October.
